Hey why do you guys generally switch to synthetic oil in a new motor? I waited until after I used up my 3 free oil changes on the tC so around 9k.
I am wondering because just got the woman a new car and can't decide when to switch. Car has about 2200 miles now and it is a Nissan Rogue so it is the 2.5l 4cyl that is also in the Altima.

My understanding is that new motors don't even require
break-in periods anymore.

Make sure you drain the old oil first!
